Project for Facilitating Public Adaptation to Climate Change

Absrtact
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) published the third chapter of the Fifth Assessment Report (AR5) on April 2014, and confirmed that climate change has been attributed to human activities. By 2030, if mitigation works still delay, it might be extremely difficult to maintain global warming at 2 degrees Celsius. Fewer choices will be available. So, if we don’t take action more positively, the global average temperature would be 3.7 degrees to 4.8 degrees Celsius warmer by 2100. In order to enhance everyone's life quality, slowdown the speed of changing climate, reduce the environmental hazards, and strengthen citizens’ consensus to climate change, all the activities in this project are designed in considering for different target audience. Their themes will link to the World Environmental Day and/or other international issues. In addition, the form of promotion will be different than before. To deliver climate change knowledge of literacy, it is planned to hold a low carbon concert by using cross-border cooperation of culture and art; and for the continue of 2013 Climate Battle game, combining education with entertainment is a way to enhance the public awareness of mitigation and adaptation on climate change, and further to increase the ability of making decisions and taking action to face the risk of climate change. By following the IPCC AR5 as a basic framework, these abstruse reports will create into infographics to explain the causes of climate changes associated with coping directions. Moreover, to promote the education for carbon reduction and strengthen social cohesion continually, activities such as the "carbon reduction action mark" selection, relevant lectures and the two-day activity for environmental education will continue. This is not only to encourage and give recognition to those who have taken carbon reduction efforts and made results, but also to share experiences and establish attitude to climate change, knowledge and skills for the target of “Mitigate warming, Learn adaptation, and Maintain a happiness home.
